I've listened to numerous stories in my life and always loved writing them. As I've grown, I have set aside that joy to work on other goals. After having a life changing experience, I know that I want to at least have had a couple good stories out there for people to listen to. So I started a Podcast! Will work on more stories when I can, but go check it out!

Standing Up To Match Our Heroes

Wooing over heroes is a good thing, a favorable thing. But that just isn't enough for me, I want to keep growing. I want to be a somebody! I want to have done great things in my life. It doesn't have to be BIG things, newsworthy things... I just want to have said I have done the things I wanted to do, no matter how daunting the task or busy I was.  I made a webcomic because I knew I had it in me! I LOVE cartoons.  I also love video games, stories, and adventures, and then I realized WHAT IS AN A...

Starting a Let’s Play!

Whenever I sink my teeth into a project, I never seem to understand the magnitude of how big it really is. AAAnd I innuendo'd myself, awesome.  I really like playing video games, with the rare spare time I have, and want to make the most of that time by recording it to document any unforgettable moments you can never really reenact at a cocktail party, or where ever adults go to socially adult.  The truth is, it would be pretty cool to get it big on Twitch or YouTube and earn some revenue to do ...

Jaime and Balin’s Podcasts

I'll drop the link like the hotcakes it IS!  Today carried an unexpected but amazing new surprise! Jaime stopped by the house because he wanted to start doing his podcast again. This time around he wanted to try doing it with a cohost to keep the conversation alive.  In this first episode (still figuring it out), we reminisce the times of our youth and what we had to do to satisfy those gaming goals and thrills!  We tried having a very loose guideline till we get a grip on how the software and h...

Working on Your First Game!

It's a nightmare and scary and omg I have failed more times than I like. BUT I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I have worked on NUMEROUS game dev tutorials and unfortunately quite a few games I started on my own. It seemed like with each of the games I tried to make on my own, I had the vision, the basic programming knowledge or at least where to find the answer, and even a good floor plan with what I wanted to do in small attainable goals.  I got as far as the first level programmed before I would bur...

Certification in Beginning C Sharp

XPFeature
WooHOO! I finished my online course to be rewarded with a certification! It clearly states "C# for the Absolute Beginner", but it's a step and a certification in something!  I knew a good portion already from studying Goldstone's book, but did things ever change about half way in.  I still need to practice a few things to memory, like: loops, lists, arrays, classes and constructors, using external files, and GUI! That does seem a lot to work on now that I type it all out, but baby steps are stil...

New Goals

ComicFeature
It's a brand new year and with it brings a birthday closer to thirty.  Thirty is a pretty scary acknowledgement, and want to have achieved at least a few significant marks I could boast about at a cocktail party.  I have taken practice to coding a few hours every day and most of the weekend so I can get the mechanics of game making down. I finally finished Goldstone's book and am back tracking to practice and relearn earlier steps.  From this I am playing with how to make the code do other thing...

Learning C# as a Beginner

XPFeature
I have had quite a lot of input from members on Twitter to which I am grateful and did some of my own research on where to start thoroughly learning C# or C sharp.   I have several books but do not give me the homework to practice and retain what it is they are trying to teach me. Unity 3.x Game Development Essentials by Goldstone is a VERY great introduction to C# and Unity3d.  However once you progress to much later in the book, it becomes out of date with Unity's Particle system and as GUI...

8-Bit Hall of Fame Twitch

TVFeature2
Wow was that an epicly hard and long weekend piecing this together, but certainly well worth the work and more!  Jaime and I convinced the owner of this store to have some kind of internet publicity and seeing how we were recently introduced to Twitch, what better way than to make it happen in HIS store!  We drove all over town on a scavenger hunt for the right equipment to set this bad baby up.  For two nights in a row we stayed till past midnight hooking this up to work on the gaming couch AND...
